For recurrent respiratory tract infections

Composition

1 tablet contains:

3 mg of lysate from Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus mitis, Streptococcus pyogenes, Strepto­coccus pneumoniae, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Branhamella catarrhalis and Haemophilus influenzae

(from at least 1 x 1O~ bacteria each). 

Indications

Recurrent respiratory tract infections such as bronchitis, rhinitis, sinusitis, otitis, pharyngitis and laryngitis.

         Contra-indications

Do not use Luivac in the presence of acute gastroenteritis. Due to insufficient experience and the possibility of complex interactions, Luivac should not be used in patients with autoimmune diseases. The tablets should not be taken during pregnancy until sufficient experience is available. There are no objections to the use of Luivac during the lactation period. 

Side effects

Luivac is usually well tolerated. In very sensitive patients, slight gastrointestinal disturbances have been observed occasionally and skin reactions (rash) have occurred in rare cases. 

Interactions with other drugs

No incompatibilities of Luivac with other drugs have been observed. However, if a treatment with drugs which suppress the immune defense (immunosuppressive agents) is carried out simulta­neously, a decrease in the efficacy of Luivac is to be expected. 

Dosage regimen and mode of administration

Unless otherwise directed, adults and children take one tablet once daily. The tablets should be swallowed with some liquid on an empty stomach in the morning.

The therapy is carried out for a 28-day period. After a treatment-free period of 28 days, an additio­nal treatment period of 28 days follows.

If necessary, your doctor will prescribe further treatment periods.

In the case of an acute infection, Luivac cannot replace a necessary treatment with antibiotics; however, it may be used concomitantly.

Medicinal products should be kept out of the reach of children.
