100% Pure HMB
100% Pure HMB 50g (90caps)
Balance 100% Pharmaceutical Grade HMB provides Calcium B-Hydroxy B-methylbutyrate, in a pure powder form.
HMB is an important anti-catabolic that has shown to support the body’s ability to minimise protein breakdown and damage to muscle cells that can occur subsequent to intense training.
HMB is a metabolite of the essential branch chain amino acid (BCAA) L-Leucine. Leucine is a major component of muscle tissue and is metabolised firstly to Keto Isocaproic Acid (KIC) and then to HMB within your body.

Mode of Action
HMB (ß-hydroxy-ß-methylbutyrate) is a natural compound produced in the body, derived from the branched-chain amino acid, leucine. A portion of the leucine within the skeletal muscles is metabolised into the intermediary product, -ketoisocaproate (KIC) via transanimation. The enzyme Dioxygenase converts KIC into HMB in the cytosolic compartment.
Approximately 5% of the Leucine in the body each day is converted to HMB producing about 0.2 to 0.4 g of HMB a day in a 70 Kg individual.
The general theory is that HMB reduces or prevents protein breakdown, and it on this premise that HMB has become a popular dietary supplement for bodybuilders and other athletes who are trying to increase lean body mass and muscle strength.Indications
